The John Rowe Chapter of the National Bar Association is an active voice in the Lexington community serving as a liaison to minority law students, assisting its members in academic and social development, and providing service throughout the community. Some of the Chapter’s notable accomplishments over the last decade include the Eat Well/Test Well program at area middle schools, speaker forums, back-to-school rallies, a CLE presentation featuring Justice Mary Noble, Court of Appeals Judge Denise Clayton and Fayette Circuit Judge Pamela Goodwine; the annual picnic at (retired) Judge Gary Payne’s home, tutoring and mentoring with UK BLSA members, donation of funds for books to the Carter G. Woodson Academy, and various other community, and social events. The Chapter also has an active bowling team.
